Creative Aging: Arts Days
Creative Aging's Arts Days bring together artists, volunteers and seniors. Approximately 50 artists are hired to perform and share their work. Through Arts Days, residents in six different nursing homes and assisted-living residences get to participate in four days of painting and drawing. Additionally, the program provides monthly performances and a series of art-making workshops to four nursing homes and assisted living communities.
Through Arts Days, more than 400 seniors are given opportunities for individual and shared self expression, helping them feel supported and valued by the community. This program educates, engaged and entertains – physically and emotional uplifting the seniors. Seniors engaged in the arts are more socially engaged, have more active minds and are in better physical and mental health.
