This program supports strategies to strengthen an organization’s infrastructure, and position them for sustained growth, so that they may have a greater impact in the community. This program embodies tolerance for calculated risk taking, encouraging organizations to pursue significant projects that can propel mission achievement.
The Enhancement Grant is funded through a specific fund held in our endowment. Created through a gift from the Plough Foundation in 2005 to support innovation in the arts sector, this fund has enabled $5.3 million in investments through 144 grants to 36 organizations since its inception. Up to 7% of the fund balance will be distributed annually. For the current cycle, we estimate $275,000 will be distributed.

The ArtsMemphis Board Invest in Arts Committee selects individuals to serve on the Enhancement Committee annually. The Enhancement Committee will review applications, conduct research and site visits, and recommend funding decisions. All funding decisions will be voted on by the Board of Directors.
