Urban Art - Bruce Elementary - Scott Adams

Mosaics/Wall Reliefs / Mural

 The students of Bruce Elementary worked with art teacher Janna Bernstein to create drawings based on the theme of this project, Learning through the Arts. Artist Scott Adams incorporated the children’s drawings into a design for the mosaic murals. Both Ms. Bernstein and Ms. Adams, in addition to volunteers, supervised and instructed the children as they created the mosaic murals as designed by Ms. Adams. The UrbanArt Commission and Center for Arts Education received a Millennium Grant from the Memphis Flyer and a Material Grant from Home Depot to help fund this project. Many volunteers also assisted in the creation of the project.
