Conservation Through Art 2016
In November 2016, we hosted Conservation Through Art in partnership with Ducks Unlimited. This biennial program raises awareness and funds for two of our region's greatest assets: the arts, and the outdoors. At this year's event, we had the pleasure of honoring Bass Pro Shops Founder Johnny Morris, and AutoZone President & CEO Bill Rhodes.
We're delighted to announce that this year's Conservation Through Art (CTA) was the most successful ever! As of December 31st, we shattered our previous records by raising $1 million from dozens of generous individuals and businesses.
- we secured nearly $900,000 in Sponsorships and Tickets
- this includes over $30,000 raised through our "CTA Jr." group for younger arts and wildlife enthusiasts
- our Live Auction brought in over $110,000 (the most ever by far!)
All proceeds from CTA are divided evenly between ArtsMemphis and Ducks Unlimited. These funds enable ArtsMemphis to invest in more than 60 local arts and culture groups every year; and they help Ducks Unlimited conserve thousands of acres of wetlands.
Many thanks to our wonderful honorees, sponsors, committee members, volunteers, and the entire Memphis community, for making this event such a terrific success! And extra special thanks to our sensational 2016 event Co-Chairs, Trow Gillespie and Chuck Smith.
