Basic Blacksmithing ll

This class will focus on a “grill” using various types of scrolls such as ribbon, fish tail and snub-end. The grill will be assembled and fitted using the traditional techniques of punching, forge welding, riveting and collaring. Tuition covers tools and materials. Students must provide their own safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves.

Introduction to Sand Casting - Winter

This class is designed to give students a basic knowledge of the tools and techniques used to produce bronze and aluminum castings from molten metal poured into sand molds. The workshop will consist of lecture, demonstration and hands-on-activities. Each student will make at least two molds and pour one casting in aluminum. You will learn skills in power hammer operation, bottom tooling, riveting, team striking, hammer control and basic metallurgy. Tuition covers tools and materials. Bottle Opener Mini Workshop - Spring Semester
