ArtsMemphis

Raising funds to ensure excellence in the arts and build a vibrant cultural community for everyone...our mission statement says it best. ArtsMemphis is an arts fundraising organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the region's cultural community. Approximately 95% of funds raised through our annual campaign goes directly to the arts community. Founded 48 years ago by a group of Memphians who wanted to ensure that vibrant and diverse local arts offerings would be sustained, ArtsMemphis is now one of the largest United Arts Fund in the country. ArtsMemphis is proud to offer this calendar of events to our community as another way to promote our many cultural assets.

      Just wanted to share how much I enjoyed this performance. I was excited to see it based on the description but it exceeded my expectations three- fold! The actors and the set made me feel like I was sitting in a small town in Mississippi as we learned about the characters' lives. There were some definite laugh out loud moments, yet, some very sad and realistic moments. A great balance and very thought provoking. Thank you so much for including this in the Bravo series of events. Collapse

      This is, in itself, a true work of art and you feel as though you are along on a duck hunt. You are there! The photographs take you there. The beauty of them through out make this a collection of wonderful glimpses into a wonderful sport. I have two prints I ordered, which are from the book, hanging in my office and they have received great compliments and many have asked "Where did these come from?" Fortunately, the book is in my office too. Great item for an office, home, duck camp or any place else. Collapse

      Outstanding video! A perfect blend of interviews, real life segments and performance clips. Memphis has produced some of the greatest performers of all time, including Steven Len White. Steve is the consumate professional and is beloved by audiences and fellow performers (I have been lucky enough to be both). No one performs with more passion and integrity than Steve, and this program really captured this. I especially loved the view into his warm-up routine with his lovely wife, Debbie, at the piano. He chose to pursue opera and musical theater, but he can easily command any stage, even the "Grand Ole' Opry"! This will undoubtedly increase attendance at Macaroni Grill as many will hope to hear Steve serenade their dining experience. The final thoughts spoken and the conclusion of Steve singing his song at the end of the video was very moving. Thank you for choosing to showcase the wonderful Steven Len White. I loved it!       Lurlynn Franklin is a true artist. Everything she symbolizes is depicted in the video. She incorporates all of the disciplines (English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies) in her art. She loves teaching and her main objective is to prepare children for the real world. Lurlynn is an analytical thinker who influences all the students at Lincoln Elementary. She is an effective teacher as well as an effective artist. I have been Lurlynn's mentor for three years. She has shown tremendous growth in the field of education. She represents our school well. Collapse
