The annual Arts Build Communities (ABC) grants maximum increased this year by $500. Grants will range from $500 to $2,500 and are available to state-recognized non-profit 501©3 organizations or government entities that must provide a dollar-for-dollar match toward the proposed project seeking funding. The application became available online at www.tn.gov beginning April 1 and the deadline for submission is July 1, 2015.
ABC grants are available to eligible organizations in Shelby, Fayette, Lauderdale and Tipton counties.
Arts Build Communities is funded by the Tennessee General Assembly and administered by ArtsMemphis in cooperation with the Tennessee Arts Commission (TAC). The program is designed to provide support for arts projects that broaden access to arts experiences and address community quality of life issues. ABC grants offer financial support for arts projects in all arts disciplines as recognized by the TAC, including dance, music, opera/musical theatre, theatre, visual arts, design arts, crafts, photography, media arts, literature, interdisciplinary and folk arts.
“ABC grants help to enhance and support the quality and diversity of programming that the Memphis-area arts community offers. These grants are particularly vital to smaller and younger arts organizations,” said Parke Kennedy, ArtsMemphis Donor Relations & Grants Manager.
