    Description: Conversations with death row inmate Michael Perry and those affected by his crime serve as an examination of why people - and the state – kill. In his fascinating exploration of a triple homicide case in Conroe, Texas, master filmmaker Werner Herzog (Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Grizzly Man) achieves what he describes as “a gaze into the abyss of the human soul" via intimate interviews with those involved, including the 28-year-old Perry, who is scheduled to die within eight days of appearing on-screen, the families of the victims, and a state executioner and pastor who’ve been with death row prisoners as they’ve taken their final breaths.
