Part of the Indie Memphis Film Festival
Indie Memphis Film Festival presented by Duncan-Williams, Inc.
This documentary film tells the history and importance of the National Film Registry, a roll call of American cinema treasures that reflects the diversity of film, and indeed the American experience itself. Featuring interviews with notable filmmakers including Christopher Nolan (Inception), John Waters (Hairspray) and John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood), the film reveals how "American movies tell us so much about ourselves... not just what we did, but what we thought, what we felt, what we aspired to, and the lies we told ourselves." Admission: $6 mem/$8 non-mem/Free for VIP Film Pass holders.

The Indie Memphis Film Festival returns to the Brooks and other Midtown locations this November 3-6, presenting a dynamic and engaging weekend of the best new independent features, documentaries and short films from across the country, and providing a showcase for new work by Memphis filmmakers. Named one of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals, the fourteen-year-old event inspires and connects, transforming the city best known as "the home of the Blues and the birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll" into a connecting point for filmmakers, artists, musicians and audiences.
