In this cult classic, David Bowie portrays Thomas Jerome Newton, an extraterrestrial whose home planet is suffering from an extreme drought. His mission to find water brings him to Earth, where he finds love with hotel worker Mary-Lou (Candy Clark) and befriends Dr. Nathan Bryce (Rip Torn). With Buck Henry as Oliver V. Farnsworth, a patent attorney who assists Newton in his quest. All too often seen in washed-out copies, this remastered version of the uncut director’s version allows Roeg’s dazzling visuals to be seen as they were meant to be. Introduced by Memphis filmmaker and Bowieologist John Michael McCarthy. Admission: $6 mem/$8 non-mem/Free for VIP Film Pass holders.
