Hattiloo in the Park presents "Spunk"
September 3, 2011
Add Review/Comment
The Hattiloo in the Park series stages the same free play in four Memphis parks. One park is visited each Saturday in September, from noon until 3 p.m. Their goal is to give more people a first-hand introduction to the cultural relevance of live theatre and to promote a sense of community.
Mark one or all of September's Saturdays on your calendar and come out to enjoy "Spunk," written by Zora Neal Hurston, adapted by George C. Wolfe, and directed by Patricia Smith. This production utilizes the blues, choral narrative, and dance, to bring to life three tales that focus on men and women trapped inside the “laughin' kind of lovin' that comes from being human.”
