    A lively family musical. A famous rock-n-roll star is about to be drafted into the Army. Albert Peterson, his agent, and Albert’s secretary, Rosie, concoct one final national publicity plan before Conrad Birdie’s induction. Conrad will bid a typical teen-age girl goodbye with a kiss. Kim MacAfee in Sweet Apple, Ohio, wins and the arrival of Birdie in Sweet Apple completely upsets the MacAfee household. This satiric tribute to popular music contains the hit songs “Put on a Happy Face,” “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” “Kids” and, of course, “Bye, Bye Birdie.”
