    During the punk rock scene of the late '70s, downtown New York experienced a wave of "Do it yourself" independent filmmaking. When the city was still a wasteland of cheap rent and cheap drugs, these directors crafted daring works that would go on to profoundly influence the development of independent film as we know it today. Nearly four decades later, director Celine Danhier debuts this interview-laden history of New York’s No Wave Cinema and Cinema of Transgression movements, with Jim Jarmusch, John Waters, Deborah Harry, Richard Kern, and Thurston Moore.
