    Description:

To purchase tickets by phone call 901.544.6208. From the Queen of the Night’s pyrotechnic high notes to Papageno’s chirpy birdsongs, this production by artist William Kentridge bursts onto the stage of Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy – and onto the big screen! Described by the New York Times as “an exuberant dialogue between drawing and music, a three-dimensional work of art with video projected across and around the human figures onstage,” this symbolic fairy tale is set in a Victorian-era world fraught with colonialism and exploration. With Aga Mikolaj, Heike Grötzinger and Maria Radner as the Three Ladies and Alex Esposito as Papageno.

    Composer: Mozart

    La Scala | 2011 | 2 hours 44 minutes
