Nora Jane Struthers and P.J. George

Nora Jane Struthers and the Bootleggers won the 2010 Best New Band Competition at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Her songs, intricately infused with strokes of bluegrass, Celtic, gospel, old time and folk, tell stories of heartbreak and hope.

. “Nora Jane Struthers is one of the most mesmerizing, haunting and hard-hitting projects I’ve ever heard. Her lyrics are simply spectacular and have achingly beautiful melodies to boot.... Certainly the most arresting music I’ve heard in a long time” (Dave Higgs, Bluegrass Breakdown).

Bootleggers founder, P. J. George, is a talented singer and multi-instrumentalist, proficient on piano, guitar, mandolin, drums, banjo , fiddle, and pedal steel guitar.

P.J.'s vocal harmonies perfectly match Nora Jane's tone and phrasing, and together, they will make our MAMA audience remember why they come to our concerts.

This project has been funded through an Arts Build Communities Grant, a program funded by the Tennessee General Assembly and administered in cooperation with the Tennessee Arts Commission and ArtsMemphis.
