The Miró Quartet will perform its infamous "à la carte” concert. During the second half of the performance audience members will be able to choose songs from an à la carte menu. “Secretly music lovers want to program the concert of their dreams and invite one of the best quartets in the world to perform it," says Connie Zimmer of Washington D.C.’s Dumbarton Concerts. "The Miró Quartet offers this fantasy.” Founded in 1995 at the Oberlin Conservatory, the Quartet has won the Fischoff, Banff, and Coleman competitions as well as the prestigious Naumburg Chamber Music Award and the Cleveland Quartet Award. It was the first chamber ensemble ever to be awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant. A recent New York Times review notes: “Throughout, the Miró Quartet played with explosive vigor and technical finesse.” The Quartet performs regularly in many of the world’s greatest concert halls including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic’s Kammermusiksaal, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Konzerthaus in Vienna.
