Back by popular demand, Voices of the South presents Cicada, a play by its artistic director, Jerry Dye. Cicada, a “coming-of-age ghost story,” is the tale of a family in rural Mississippi struggling to let go of its past in a world of ghosts, secrets and tenacious memories. Come to TheatreWorks to see how this Southern family tries to lay its ghosts to rest.

      I really really enjoyed this play. I wasn't sure what to expect as I have always only seen very mainstream stuff. I HAVE BEEN MISSING OUT! I enjoyed this so much. Haunting, funny, heartbreaking,... Expand

      Just wanted to share how much I enjoyed this performance. I was excited to see it based on the description but it exceeded my expectations three- fold! The actors and the set made me feel like I was sitting in a small town in Mississippi as we learned about the characters' lives. There were some definite laugh out loud moments, yet, some very sad and realistic moments. A great balance and very thought provoking. Thank you so much for including this in the Bravo series of events. Collapse
