    In its Memphis Matters performances, Playback Memphis invites audience members to share stories from their lives and then watch as actors and musician bring them to life - on the spot, without script, score, or rehearsal. Memphis Matters is all about Memphis.

    Proceeds from every Memphis Matters show are used to fund performances for local communities in need, underserved populations, and community organizations , such as Victims to Victory (serving families grieving loss from homicide), Porter Leath (serving Head Start families), Creative Aging Mid-South (working to improve quality of life for elders).

    During the next three months, Playback Memphis will partner with these and other local non-profit organizations to bring the Playback experience to community members whose voices often go unheard. The season will culminate in a celebration: in June, Playback Memphis will host an exhibition of photographs and writings taken during and inspired by its performances.
