In a spectacular finish to this season-long celebration, Alon Goldstein will bring his stunning virtuosity to the dazzling challenges of the Second Piano Concerto by Camille Saint-Saëns on April 16, 2011. The entire IRIS orchestra will shine in tours-de-force by Schumann and Elgar. Alon Goldstein has been hailed for original and compelling performances as a soloist with major North American orchestras and is the winner of numerous competitions, among them the Arianne Katcz Piano Competition in Tel Aviv; the Nena Wideman Competition in the U.S.; and the Francois Shapira Competition in Israel. He is also the recipient of the 2004 Salon di Virtuosi Career Grant and the America Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship.
