Augustin Hadelich first appeared with IRIS after winning the coveted first prize at the International Indianapolis Violin Competition, where he also won numerous special awards. He makes his triumphant return to IRIS on December 4, 2010, in a richly colored program that includes Mozart’s Violin Concerto No.4; Robert Beaser's beautiful string suite, Folk Songs; and Respighi’s musical evocation of three paintings by Botticelli, including The Adoration of the Magi, a fitting way to usher in the holiday season. With his poetic style and breathtaking technique, Hadelich has established himself as a rising star among the new generation of violinists. He has appeared with the Cleveland Orchestra, Houston Symphony, and Los Angeles Philharmonic, among many others. He is the winner of the 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant.
