The Valentine Day weekend at the Center for Southern Folklore Store will be filled with the sounds of traditional and contemporary Americana music as singer/songwriter/fiddle player Stephanie Bettman takes the stage Saturday night, February 13 at 9 p.m. Admission is $7.00. The Folklore Store is located at 123 S. Main Street @ the Peabody Place Trolley Stop in the heart of downtown Memphis.

The songs Stephanie Bettman writes come directly from her heart. Her lyrics are infused with a wit and wisdom that belies her young years and blend with melodies that'll stay with you long after the concert. As a vocalist, she can swing effortlessly from up-tempo bluegrass originals to a soothing honey-sweet ballad to a rousing passionate anthem. All the marvelous tunes she sings are supported by her first-rate fiddling which combines elements of iconic bluegrass performers such as Johnny Gimble with the classic swing jazz of Stephane Grappelli.

Currently touring with Stephanie is multi-instrumentalist Luke Halpin, who is equally adept on mandolin, fiddle and guitar. Inspired by the likes of Sam Bush, Tony Rice, and Mark O'Conner, Luke's harmonies and his instrumental expertise are the perfect complement to Stephanie's artistry and performance. The two of them will be performing several songs from Stephanie's debut CD "Get Close To Me" which has received national radio play while reaching the top ten in the Folk DJ chart.
