    Jan 24 - March 18 From January 22 through March 18, 2010, Dixon Gallery and Gardens will host Metal in Memphis, a group exhibition of metal sculpture by the National Ornamental Metal Museum's five artists in residence. Artists contributing to Metal in Memphis - Mary Catherine Floyd, Jacob Brown, Jim Masterson, Kevin Burge, and Jeannie Tomlinson Saltmarsh - each bring unique approaches and expertise to the medium. Ranging from the abstract to the utilitarian, the pieces on view in the exhibition attest to metal's versatility as an art medium and as a means of expression. Fitting in seamlessly with the Dixon's long tradition of promoting both the fine and decorative arts, Metal in Memphis celebrates a distinct aspect of the Memphis arts scene.
