Josh Shoe Friday, November 13 For the past few years, native Memphian Josh Shoe had been fronting his namesake Josh Shoe Band all over the back roads of the Mississippi Delta at places like Hopson's Plantation in Clarksdale and the annual Fool's Ball in Logs Hill where his crew served as the house band. Now Josh has returned to his hometown to re-launch a promising career in the field of Americana music. With an acoustic guitar and his own strong vocals, Josh explores the fertile ground of traditional and contemporary American folk and country music often visited by the likes of John Fogerty, David Grisman, Jerry Garcia and Paul Simon. For this performance, Josh will be joined onstage by his brother  on acoustic guitar, giving Josh a chance to show his virtuosity on mandolin. For samples of Josh Shoe's music, visit

. The Center for Southern Folklore provides the music and the audience brings their lunch or purchases the goodies in the Folklore Store such as vegetarian greens, hot water cornbread or peach cobbler. Either way, the free Brown Bag Concerts on Thursdays and Fridays are one of the best reasons to live/work in downtown Memphis. The Folklore Store is located at 123 S. Main Street @ The Peabody Place Trolley Stop in the heart of downtown Memphis.
