    Shemekia Copeland at the Pocono Blues Festival in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania Eddie Turner at the Pocono Blues Festival in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania Much like Kenny Neal, Derek Trucks, Luther Dickinson and many others, Shemekia Copeland was born into the music business. The daughter of the late Texas blues stalwart, Johnny Clyde Copeland Shemekia began touring with her ailing father at the age of 16 and attracted considerable attention out on the blues circuit. Stepping out on her own with a 1998 release on the Alligator label she?s been going strong ever since with proiductions by the likes of Dr. John and Steve Cropper. Her latest release is on the Telearc label. Eddie Turner was born in Cuba, raised in Chicago and became a man in Colorado. He's played with Tracy Nelson and Mother Earth, and Otis Taylor.
