Inspired by painter Walter Anderson, Memphis College of Art students, faculty, alumni and friends have braved the heat, humidity and mosquitoes of Horn Island, MS each summer since 1985. After enduring rugged and challenging living conditions, they transform their experiences into artwork. In celebration of Horn Island 25, MCA will host exhibitions, lectures and a collaborative work by students and filmmaker Willie Bearden beginning in August and continuing throughout the Fall. The events are free and open to the public.
