Founded by noted Memphis violinist Peter Hyrka (Memphis' NARAS Premier Player Hall Of Fame), in 1996, the Hombres set out to take the classic Django Reinhardt gypsy sound and point it in new and fresh directions. While there are many groups that continue to revisit the sound of the Quintet of the Hot Club of France, the GYPSY HOMBRES strive to maintain the integrity of the style and the energy of the performance while molding a more contemporary approach.
