    If you want to attend a fabulous party, get a spectacular gift for your special Valentine, and help kids rebuild their lives at the same time, Works of Heart is for you! The 17th Works of Heart Valentine Auction on February 7 promises to inspire and entertain everyone who attends. With Kym Clark of Action News 5 as emcee, and remarkable works of art to bid on, Works of Heart is a great party. And it all benefits the Child Advocacy Center. The heart-themed artwork is created by accomplished and emerging regional artists. For 17 years, over 100 "heartists" are given a plain piece of heart-shaped wood as inspiration to create a work of art. The results are inventive and awe-inspiring. Artists include Dolph Smith, John McIntire, George Hunt, Valerie Berlin, David Mah, and John Robinette. Proceeds help provide child-friendly intervention for children who have been sexually abused or severely physically abused. The event will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Memphis College of Art. Tickets are $50 and include complimentary wine, beer, and appetizers. The Works of Heart pieces will be on display to the public during the week prior to the auction, February 2-6.
