As we began considering ARTAFACTOR 2009, Pam McDonnell (ARTAFACTOR 2009 Premier Artist), told us what she wanted to express in her work for this year's grand affair and we...well...fell in love! 

Pam got us all heated up talking about the uniquely seductive power of the arts.

Like a great love affair, art has the power to transform and to allow us to see the world through the eyes of our heart. An experience of a great painting, photograph or performance can be a swooning, roller coaster ride that leaves us dizzy and wanting more...lots more! Some of us can surely attest to it always feeling like the first time...

ARTAFACTOR 2009, An Affair of the Arts, continues our tradition of an intimate evening at the home of our city's finest arts patrons and the opportunity to enjoy a private date with a notable and rarely seen collection of art. The perfect way to fall in love.

From there, the tradition ends

We are orchestrating a soiree worthy of this fine romance like never before. And, while every romance needs a little mystery, here's a bit of a tease...

Join us for a cocktail supper and the warm hospitality of Deborah and Bob Craddock as they welcome us for an evening filled with surprises, interludes, the unexpected and-hopefully-a bit of the sublime.

But we're starting early with private auctions leading up to as well as that evening. These private bidding auctions that will be announced leading up to the event will offer a brief, intense bidding period of some truly unique and original works of art, design and imaginatively conceived experiences commissioned especially and only for ARTAFACTOR 2009. A carefully curated collection of national, internationally prominent, and the finest artists of our region all were salivating to create for this special evening.

You will be entertained and entranced by clectic and extraordinary performances by the outstanding performing artists of Memphis and the Delta throughout the affair.

Then wind down (or up...) by dancing away the last hours under the starlight, candlelight and and sparkling chandeliers beneath poolside and beneath a perfect canopy of sweeping Southern trees.

Finally the ARTAFACTOR host committe, artist Pam McDonnell and our generous host and hostess will send you off into a balmy night with a special gift and lots of memories...

As the Beatles said: In the end, the love you take is the love you make.

Our annual Affair of the Arts is-by design-an intimate affair. Keeping that in mind, reservations are very limited so save the date and we're extending an early invitation to you for your support and interest in ArtsMemphis. Please pre-reserve your 'night mysterious' right now.
