At AMUM's ArtLab, Eric Painter presents works that are a combination of painting and sculpture. Painter has coined the term "paint-ure" to describe his work. He states that in the history of Western art, architecture, painting, and sculpture have been closely related. The Sistine Chapel ceiling combines painting and architecture. The great cathedrals of Europe incorporated sculpture-filled niches into the architecture.
