    Introduction to Sand Casting (Part 1) is designed to give students a basic knowledge of the tools and techniques used to produce bronze and aluminum castings from molten metal poured into sand molds. The workshop will consist of lecture, demonstration and hands-on-activities. Each student will make at least two molds and pour one casting in aluminum. Students may choose simple patterns supplied in class, but are highly encouraged to bring something of their own design. Tuition will be $250 with a $75 lab fee. Students must provide their own safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves.
