This musical tribute celebrates Buddy Holly's dramatic rise from local entertainer to international phenomenon. Reflecting his musical development from country and western through doo wop to rock 'n roll, this bittersweet story follows Buddy's humble beginnings in Lubbock, Texas to his last concert on that fateful night in 1959 in Clear Lake, Iowa. The day the music died may have happened nearly fifty years ago, but audiences can once again rock and roll with the legendary icon who provided unforgettable, enduring favorites like "Peggy Sue," "Oh Boy," and "That'll Be the Day."

I saw this show opening weekend and can definitely say this is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. The cast has such energy and the main character portrayed Buddy to the "t". My most favorite moment was when Chris McCollum sang Richie Vallen's "La Bamba". It rocked the house!!! That kid is going to go far! Collapse

I went to see this play over the opening weekend and was blown away by the music and acting. It has easily pushed aside so many of my favorite stage plays to rock to #1 in my book. Todd Meredith is a believable Buddy Holly and the cast is amazing! I especially enjoyed the Apollo Singer. This is one of those plays that shouts Encore! Collapse
