    Following last year's sold out show, performers from three of Memphis's  improvisational theater shows are joining together again for another group exhibition of improv talent.

    Members of FreakEngine, The Wise Guys and Running Gag are joining forces for : The 2nd Annual Memphis Improv All-Stars Cage Match!, a competitive improvisational comedy show to be held at 8:00 pm May 10, 2008 at TheatreWorks, located at 2085 Monroe Ave.

    Admission is $7.

    Hosted by MemphisFreakEngine Productions, the event will group the performers in two teams who will then challenge each other to successive rounds of entertaining improvisational comedy games. The show will feature several well-known improv games, made popular by such television shows as "Whose Line Is It Anyway".

    Also featured, will be signature games from each of the three represented shows' line-ups. The winning team will be chosen by the audience. MemphisFreakEngine Productions has been proud to bring FreakEngine, Memphis's longest continually running improvisational theater show, to Memphis audiences for almost eleven years. Currently directed by Michael Entman, the show has been performed at midnight on the first Friday of every month since its first show in June 1997. Since that first show, though the performers have changed, the show format, performance space and time and even admission have not. Relying heavily on audience participation, FreakEngine has been called "the Rocky Horror of improv". Over the years, FreakEngine has become a late-night institution for standing room only crowds month after month. The Wise Guys, FreakEngine's sister show, performs in various clubs and bars across the Mi-South. Currently performing regularly at Zinnie's East Full Moon Club and Comedy, TN, The Wise Guys shows feature a format very similar to the well know television program "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Running Gag is Memphis's youngest improv show. Running Gag performs once a month at the Galloway Coffee House located on the first floor of Galloway United Methodist Church at Cooper and Walker.
