I saw Oklahoma this past weekend and WOW!!! This is an amazing production! I have seen Oklahoma countless times and went to this one kicking and screaming. This particular production is unlike any I have ever seen. It is loaded with personality, moves quickly, and is one of the most entertaining shows I have seen in a very very long time! BRAVO Theatre Memphis and the cast of Oklahoma! You have a bona fide hit on your hands! I am telling everyone I know to run, don't walk! Collapse

What a blast from the past? If you've never seen Oklahoma on stage, I implore you to RUN to buy tickets for Theater Memphis' production. The charming and mesmerizing cast, with their tastefully designed period costumes, will immerse you in a story you've seen or heard a 100 times. Well executed choreography is the perfect companion to vocal performances which are smooth and engaging. Even though the set design is somewhat minimal, when combined with the lighting design, they cleverly transport you to exactly where you need to be the Oklahoma plains. My only critique: no group sing-along at the end. Kudos to the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication on this show. You've got a winner. Collapse

Your recent feature of Jesus Pacheco and the cast and crew of TM's Oklahoma was a treat. I plan on showing the videos to my students. Not only does it tell of the true passion and dedication that community actors must have for their art but it also shows a theatre that thrives because of its high level of professionalism. Hooray for Theatre Memphis! Thanks for posting such a worthwhile piece! Collapse

This show was such a joy to see! The actors were absolutely amazing!! Jud Fry, Ali Hakim and Ado Annie were my favorite characters. Not only did they have great acting ability, but AMAZING voices as well. I didn't want "Lonely Room" to end. The energy between Ado Annie and Ali Hakim was fabulous. I laughed so much due to their performances. I will probably see this show two more times, at least. When it was over, I was ready to watch it again! Curly was most charming and very likable. Even though not formally trained, his voice was very soothing and enjoyable. Laurie was portrayed well although I wasn't fond of her look. She is a very cute girl but was given a bad wig that blocked much of her facial expressions and her dresses made her look childish, which felt a little weird. The choreography, set design, costumes design (all but Laurie's) and lighting design were all top notch. I enjoyed all very much. Cast-thank you for you hard work, sacrifice and dedication. Wonderful! Collapse

Sometimes, really rare sometimes, something, a really wonderful something, crosses your path and reminds you of just how far you've come and just how much the journey has meant. The two pieces posted on the ArtsMemphis TV home page that take the viewer behind the scenes of the Theatre Memphis production of Oklahoma! are that rare and that wonderful. On behalf of all of us in the Theatre Memphis family, I'd like to thank Jesus Pacheco for sharing his story, and thank ArtsMemphis for making the family look so good.
