Deathtrap, the well-constructed 1972 thriller by Ira Levin opened last weekend at Circuit Playhouse. The play opens on an expensively appointed room in the Connecticut residence of Sydney and Myra Bruhl. Sydney’s extensive collection of antique weapons is prominently displayed on the walls. The atmosphere suggests some wealth, certainly comfortable living. Sydney Bruhl is a renowned writer of Broadway thrillers, but these days he is on the skids. He hasn’t had a hit in years.
