Having grown up in this area and spent time in Memphis as a kid, it can be easy to take for granted how impressive the Mississippi River is. I was reminded of this when one of my best friends from Texas came to visit and told me that crossing the Mississippi River as he was driving in was one of the coolest experiences he has had.
